This promotion was ran in partnership between World Duty Free, a global travel retailer, and Smarties, a confectionary brand owned by Nestle. Deployed at Stansted and Manchester Airport, the promotion is a interactive and engaging experience for travelers passing through the airports.
The WebAR experience was built to combine exploration and discovery to build brand awareness, encouraging families to find hidden treasure to unlock a treasure with a code in the AR game, utilising a playful and child-friendly design to make it a family-accessible experience. The promotion ad WebAR experience is reported to have +200% dwell time compared to the industry standard for WebAR experience and garnered around 1000 views in just 1 week.
The promotion was a deeply memorable campaign for participants with an interactive and immersive pull which resonated deeply with audiences.
As we approached a busy summer period, we set ourselves a challenge to come up with a creative concept that would help families travelling with children enjoy the airport experience even more. We understand that travelling, particularly with young children, can sometimes be difficult especially if flights are in the early hours or unavoidably delayed. It’s important that we help take some of that stress away. Developing the entire idea from concept to execution, and building all of the augmented reality in-house, has been incredibly exciting and certainly sets the bar for future campaigns.
