This promotion directly targets Adidas TERREX and Intersport's athletic and sporty audience with its entry method; working with the route planning app, Komoot, to curate hikes and engaging consumers across four European markets and generating over 1.9 million impression in the process.
For participants to enter, they need to complete one of the pre-palnned hike routes by Intersport and Adidas TERREX in Komoot's app, also known as the 'United By Summits' collection. Whilst the entry method and conditions may be quite steep for a general audience, this promotion targets precisely the brands' respective audiences.
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boasts 4,200 kilometres (2,600 mi) of picture-postcard scenery from Mexico to Canada. It’s simply a lifelong dream for many adventurers. The iconic long-distance trail winds along scenic mountain ranges through three US states: California, Oregon and Washington. With the famously stunning Sierra Nevada Mountains in California and the mighty Mount Rainier in Washington, there’s no doubt you’ll already be familiar with some of what awaits you before you've even set foot on the trail. Oregon, on the other hand, has enchanted us and will surprise you!Between Ashland and Cascade Locks, you hike 728 kilometres (455 mi), feeling far away from civilisation. Expect fragrant, towering coniferous forests and crystal-clear lakes that tempt you to take a dip in their cool, turquoise waters. An undoubted Highlight is, of course, the deepest lake in the USA: the magical Crater Lake. This, one of Oregan’s most famous sites, was formed by the collapse of the Mount Mazama volcano around 7,700 years ago. Speaking of volcanoes, on the PCT you'll pass Three Sisters, Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood, towering, glacier-covered mountains born of fire. You’ll hardly be able to take your eyes off them, as your shoes crunch across the almost endless lava fields.It's this unlikely variety that makes Oregon our absolute favourite on the PCT. This is exactly why we're taking you with us on the outdoor trip of a lifetime! This September, you have the chance to join adidas TERREX on the United by Summits Relay to conquer Oregon's epic landscape along the Pacific Crest Trail. Twelve stages are up for grabs, varying in length and difficulty, from small adventures with the family to multi-day descents and self-sufficient wilderness expeditions to extreme ultra-marathons, it's all there. So choose the stage that suits you best.As a winner, you can bring along up to four people of your choice to accompany you on some of the stages. We’ll cover the costs of your journey and accommodation. Plus, you will, of course, be equipped with the appropriate adidas TERREX trail gear. Together we’ll complete the entire 728 kilometres (455 mi) of the Oregon PCT and experience unique summit moments that we’ll never forget!
